New patient overview:

Your First Visit:

  • We will start with a comprehensive medical history. This may require additional investigation later.
  • We will gather appropriate diagnostic information, including a clinical extraoral and intraoral examination, x-rays, and possibly diagnostic study models.
  • Occasionally the examination appointment must be completed over two visits due to medical challenges, which may include sedation.
  • We generally do not offer cleanings on the same day as the examination.

The next steps:

  • Once all the appropriate data is gathered, we will advise you of your dental diagnoses and will recommend how to satisfy your dental needs, including alternatives to consider. We will tell you the pros/cons of each suggestion so you can make the best decision for yourself.
  • We will also discuss choices you have in how the dental care is delivered to ensure it is safe and comfortable.
  • When appropriate, we will discuss our proposed care with your referring doctor(s).
  • Once a direction of care is agreed upon, a treatment plan with fee estimates will be given to you. We will pre-determine all care to your insurance company if you wish.
